Want to make some bean bags? Cant find any in the store?

What i have done here is cut out scrap material. Aproximent inches 4 by 4. The bean bags can be whatever size you would like. Also if you wanted to you cut them in many shapes. Just be sure to leave enough extra for the seams. I had used differnt colors of material for the eye development as well as the texture of the material for the feel.
Here i had lined up the squares to sew. At the bottom picture you can see I had used a zig zag stich. There is also extra material that i had cut off when i was done sewing the inside seams.
On the left below you can see the differnt bean bags that are finished. On the right shows where i had started turning the material right side out like you would a pillow case. After i had it turned the right way i put in at least half full of beans. To finish i had pinced the outside in, and used the zig zag stich to close. These are prefect for development with the multiple colors and designs. As well as playing catch.

*Princess* Christmas dress my daughter calls it

*Princess* Christmas dress as my almost 3 year old calls it.
The material i used is a polyester/satin like, which made it a little hard to sew. You have to stretch it a little bit , since the material will stretch. * I need to put an eye hook above the zipper however just can not find a needle to sew it on by had at the moment.* The Pattern i had used for this dress was Simplicity.com pattern 5827 dress A. However i changed the pattern design a little. I added 2'' sequinned band at the bottom. As well as cutting it to fit the neck line and the end of the sleeves. I had also found a pink button that you really cant see in the photo well with her intial A. I had sewin the button on the front of the dress to personalize it. Just so cute she calls it her princess christmas dress.

Craft, A christmas wreath is fun to do

Making a wreath isn't to hard. Its actually relaxing. Well to me anyway lol. I had first wrapped the points etas around and then the acorn decoration you can kind of see. Then i had used some of the decoration ribbon two different kinds. The pretty gold and silver. I had wrapped them around and tied into bows. Tada my new Christmas wreath.
Happy holidays.

Not only do i sew, I Bake!!!

Baby shower gift

One of my closets friends is having her first baby girl. My friend already has a son but i didnt think she want to put her baby in all blue lol. So i decided to make her a quilt for her daughter. I had made a little quilt 29in by 27in, i figured make it small enough for a newborn. In the quilt there is 6 squares down and across to make up the width and height. However when her daughter gets bigger she can use it for her baby dolls. I had attempted to sew her intial on the quilt (my lettering isnt so great lol). Then i had made a bib with her first and last name intial, agian i had sewed it on there(which isnt so great either lol). I then decided to make a burp clothe as well to go with the bib. Only put her first letter on that. The material i had used was pink flannal nice and soft for the back of the quilt. As well as for the bib and the burp clothe. Just hope my friend loves them, she is due the same month my daughter Alexis turns 3!!!! The big days are coming to fast. Let me know what you think please.

Diaper Bag, easy to make

So many diaper bags in the store. Just couldnt find what would work for what i needed. So i had got a Simplicity pattern when it was on sale at the store. Pattern number 5527. The best part about making your own diaper bags is, you get to choose the material and change the design to your desire. It's unlimited choices. :) The outside of the bag is all blue jean material. I used a single stich to make my daughters intial on her bag. This bag will work when shes older for things as well if she wanted to use it.
The inside of the bag is with a pink like jean material. The material has flowers already sewen on to it. It is nice and thick. I had also used a snap instead of a button for the flap.
I had also used for the inside a plastic clear vinyl. For a just incase something leaks. The pocket was orignaly to go on the outside. However for me it works better on the inside. With vinyl it does tend to slide so be careful when sewing it. Run the machine slow and steady to get the liner all the way sewen in.

Quilting

Ever wanted to quilt?
I have so i decided to make a simple quilt such as above. The squares were about 5in by 4in. I cut out each piece then had sewed them together in a kind of pattern. Mixing all shades and designs around. I had made the quilt above for my friends son last year for christmas. The back of the quilt which i forgot to take a picture of before mailing it, is fleece with cow print. It's nice and soft and thick enough for her toddler. The quilt was the right size for a toddler bed or crib. The letters used on the front for his name, are iron letters. I loved it almost wanted to keep it.
I'm currently working on another quilt i hope to get finished and post soon. The quilt will be a queen size, with a little more complex detail. *so excited and in hopes to finish it*

Want to make your toddler a Robe? Try with an old robe around the house.

Have you ever had an old bathrobe and didnt know what to do with it? I figured out the prefect solution to save something of my husbands, for our daughter. The above picture is the old bathrobe my husband has had for 15years if not more. Parts of it had raveld out but some were very saverable.
<<> Above in the center is the sleeves. I had moved the pattern peice in the center of the orignal seam. (i had cut out the part that raveld so it would fold flat and line up with the pattern. ) For the cuffs i had used as much as i could of the orignal cuff that was sewed and seamd.
Down below is the finished bathrobe. My daughter was so happy to have something of daddys. For the belt i had kept the orignal thick bottom seam from the old robe. I had used it to make the belt. With the pattern piece that was cut two of, i had saved an orignal pocket as well from the old robe. For in place of the new robe. It was the best thing to make something of her daddys to treasure forever.
